This site is an ongoing project. July of 2009 marked the beginning of this project aimed at providing you good, up to date information. Please be patient as this is a work in progress. Click below to read about the Roger C Peace Brain Injury Education Initiative and the progress made during the first grant year.
The Outpatient Brain Injury Program of Roger C. Peace Rehabilitation Hospital, part of the Greenville Hospital System, was awarded a grant through the South Carolina Developmental Disabilities Council aimed at improving the effectiveness of the school re-entry process following brain injury. The "Brain Injury Education Initiative" provides an opportunity for research and training that provides assistance to students, their families, and educators. Goals include a research project on training needs, development of educational materials, and this, a web-based training portal. These tools enable families to play a major role in their own service coordination, as well as provide educators the tools they need to guide persons with brain injury.
